You'll find our secluded lodge in an idyllic setting, nestled among the native palms and hugging the banks of the calm, clear waters of Stafford Creek. Stafford Creek Lodge is a magical place. Come and discover a new world of Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit fishing. You will explore a vast fishing wilderness from the northern Joulters Cays to the numerous creek systems, inland lakes, and the west coast of Andros. Even discover tarpon right off the dock in front of the lodge.
Stafford Creek Lodge offers specialized personal attention to our clients. We are dedicated to providing a world class experience at the lodge and while fly fishing out on the flats.
Fly fishing on Andros is world renowned and there is no better place to experience the excitement of flats fishing than at Stafford Creek Lodge. Prescott Smith will be one of your guides. Prescott and our three other experienced guides will put you on the right flats at the right tide, giving you the best opportunity to sight and catch fish.
Stafford Creek Lodge can accommodate up to six anglers at one time. Some groups prefer to book the entire lodge, others mix with visiting anglers from around the world. Though we cater to serious anglers, occasionally a non-angling guest will join a fishing party. For them we offer nature walks, birding, a visit to a blue hole, and dolphin watching. We can also arrange a stroll on white sands beaches, snorkeling and diving, or a taxi tour of historic sites and artisans workshops on the island. Whatever your choice, you will experience a new dimension in lodging, a home away from home atmosphere, and a feeling that this lodge belongs to you. We look forward to your visit to Stafford Creek Lodge.
The Fishing
Come with us and experience our fishing program at Stafford Creek Lodge, home of the “Against the Wind” casting technique by Capt Prescott Smith. Here at Stafford Creek Lodge we target the three main salt water fly fish, Bonefish, Tarpon and the illusive Permit. However it is not uncommon to experience, Barracuda, and Snapper amongst your “catch and release” trophies of the day. Bonefish and Tarpon fishing is a year round endeavor, with the primary months for Permit being May though early November (subject to cold fronts).
We will take you to the wilderness flats of the Joulters Cays and North West coast, fishing from high performance and comfortable Maverick skiffs. You will also have the opportunity to stalk bonefish, wading the most beautiful flats in the world. The incredible scenery and vast fishery system will leave you in awe.
Our fishing days start early, allowing valuable fishing time on the flats. We plan the day according to the tides, the weather, and the fish, not by the clock. Our experienced guides will have you on the best flats casting to fish in no time. We leave each morning either from the dock here at the lodge or will trailer our top of the line skiffs a short distance to the northern Joulters Cays in our comfortable vehicles.
