Hello today was tough again. Landed one fish about 11 inches missed three others. The one I caught was next to a bank with a dry dropper on like a little France fly. Underneath a big CDC Bug that Devon Olsen won.
Great morning on the Middle Provo. Silver Bullet was killing it. Added 2 more in the afternoon on a Perdigon.
today fishing was slow felt like I couldn’t cast foul hooked a single fish. Had three others on for about two or three seconds and they got off so just a little rusty, nice and sunny and pretty day.
Caught 3 browns on Jack Daniels size 14 with 2.8 bead. 3” below a CDC dry. Was using micro leader and not casting well with just nymphs. need to practice casting.
Got up there and just never found a grove. Felt rusty. only tried for an hour then move on. ran up to Upper Provo and tried there for 15 mnutes. didn’t see any fish.

Rough. GOt a late start after coffee with dad and sisters. Went to the spot up below Deercreek and noticed it was all posted now as Private! SPoke ot a DNR guy parked there and it was recently sold and no longer accesible. Most of the upper portion of the canyon is now private. Total BS. Fished anyone where i did last week. Only fished 30 min. Zero fish, but broke the tip off my 10’ 6” Echo rod!
Met dad for coffee and then headed up provo canyon to fish. Fished for about 1 hour. Caught 3 brown trout. One was very nice sized, say 19”. Fished from the large pullout just before the RV place and the road that i fished with the guide a few years back. All three fish came from the same pocket. Rock on the side of the river with nice seams. the largest fish was right up at the top and took the silver bullet wihin a second of the cast hitting the water.

This was the second day of my solo trip to Wilderness Edge. I spent the morning fishing down below Three dollar bridge on the wilderness edge side of the river. I caught 4 white fish and 1 or 2 trout. Seemed like a lot of white fish down in that area. Went to Slide Inn at around noon and bought some Tee's. Asked the guys were to go that isn't slide in and they recommended the Madison up from Slide Inn and below Quake lake. There are basically about 3 runs you can fish. So i went and fished these. Deep and fast water. Caught some nice fish, not huge, but even the smaller fish fought like hell in this stretch of river. Seemed to be hard to get down deep quick and fast even with the 4.6 tungsten bead. Upon doing more research it seems i need to adopt a drop shoot fishing system. Troutbitten talks alot about this and so does Slide Inn folks. will be trying on the Provo soon.
started slow, visiblity was tough with the cloud cover and was weqring dark glasses. moved up river after grabbing yellow lense glasses and caught two nice fish starting at 7pm. Had a nice one get away. Was probably 22-24". had him in the current and held him for about 15 seconds, got him to within about 10 feet of my net and then he bolted downstream hard about 25 yeards. couldn't pull him back up so he took both my flies and was gone. I'm up at WIlderness Edge for a solo Bday trip.
