History
Devin Olsen's Spanish friend Luis Esteban Hernandez introduced him to the perdigon style back in 2014 when Devin was living in California. Perdigon translates to 'pellet' in English, and the flies sink exactly like small stones — the smooth body reduces drag and lets them drop deep with little weight. Luis favored a flashy orange perdigon; Devin expanded the idea with Krystal Flash in many colors. On any given day he switches between the Quilldigon (drab) and Lite Brite Perdigon (flashy) to see which the trout prefer. Between the two, he can almost always find a variation that works, regardless of what country he's fishing in.
Fishing tips
Carry multiple flash colors — black, UV blue, UV purple, UV pink, Rootbeer. The day's winning color changes fast.
