Fly Fishing Guide — Seychelles
Keith Rose-Innes is a South African-born fly fishing guide who has spent the past twelve years based in the Seychelles Outer Islands, guiding on the pristine coral flats of Alphonse, St. Francois, and Bijoutier atolls. Before relocating to the Seychelles, Keith guided for trout in South Africa's Western Cape and for tiger fish in Zimbabwe, but it was the Seychelles' combination of extraordinary fishing, marine conservation, and remote tropical beauty that captured his imagination and ultimately defined his career. He is now recognized as one of the most accomplished and innovative saltwater flats guides working in the Indian Ocean.
Keith's primary target is the giant trevally, a species that has become the marquee attraction of Seychelles fly fishing. These powerful predators, which can exceed a hundred pounds, patrol the reef edges and atoll channels, and presenting a fly to a charging GT is an adrenaline-charged experience that Keith orchestrates with the precision of a conductor. He is equally skilled at guiding for bonefish on the atoll's interior flats, where fish cruise in gin-clear water over white sand, and for the increasingly popular Indo-Pacific permit and milkfish that have drawn a new generation of adventurous anglers to these remote waters.
Keith is an active contributor to the Alphonse Foundation's marine research program, assisting with fish tagging, population surveys, and reef health monitoring. His commitment to conservation is reflected in his strict catch-and-release guiding practice and his efforts to educate clients about the fragile ecosystems they are privileged to fish.
