Regs — check current rules before you go
A valid Georgia fishing license and trout stamp are required for anglers 16 and older. The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA) is managed by the National Park Service; NPS regulations apply in addition to Georgia DNR fishing rules. Designated catch-and-release sections are in effect in the upper tailwater near Buford Dam — check current Georgia DNR and NPS regulations for boundaries and rules. Artificial lures and flies only in designated sections. Possession limits apply in general regulation water. Parking is available at NPS trailheads; parking fees may apply at some units.
