Andros South Bonefish Lodge sits on the remote southern coast of Andros Island in the Bahamas, overlooking an immense system of shallow-water flats that harbors one of the densest bonefish populations in the Caribbean. The lodge was established by a team of dedicated saltwater anglers who recognized that southern Andros offered a bonefishing experience that rivaled or exceeded the more heavily promoted destinations in the region, with vast expanses of white-sand and turtle-grass flats receiving only a fraction of the fishing pressure found on the northern end of the island or in the Florida Keys.
Daily fishing operations launch from the lodge's dock, with experienced Bahamian guides poling custom-built flats skiffs across a mosaic of shallow bays, creek mouths, and oceanside flats. Bonefish averaging three to five pounds are encountered in schools numbering in the dozens, and trophy fish exceeding eight pounds are a realistic possibility on any given day. Beyond bonefish, the flats around southern Andros produce regular encounters with barracuda, jack crevalle, and the occasional permit, providing variety for anglers who want to diversify their fly selections.
The lodge accommodates eight guests in beachfront cabins with air conditioning and modern amenities. The dining program features fresh Bahamian seafood, including conch, grouper, and lobster, prepared by a local chef whose recipes reflect generations of island culinary tradition. Evenings are spent on the lodge's veranda watching the sunset over the flats, tying flies for the next morning, and swapping stories with fellow anglers from around the world.
“I’ve been here seven times. The staff is amazing, great food and the best guides in the Bahamas.”
“I have used this lodge about 5 times. The service is fantastic and the guides are second to none. This has been my go-to spot for bonefishing in the Bahamas. I have fished other places but, I end up going back there.”
“Absolutely the best place and people if you enjoy bonefish fishing, snorkeling, people meeting and just hanghing out. The staff are professional, low key and extremely accommodating. Great place for special friends and family.”
