Regs — check current rules before you go

Wyoming fishing license required. Area 1 stream creel: three trout per day or in possession, no more than one trout over 16 inches, and no more than one cutthroat over 12 inches, unless posted otherwise. Gros Ventre River from the eastern boundary of the National Elk Refuge downstream to the U.S. Highway 26/89/191 Bridge in Teton County: National Elk Refuge regulations prohibit fishing from December 1 through March 31 (WGFD Area 1, updated January 7, 2026). Live baitfish prohibited in Area 1. Grand Teton National Park water requires a Wyoming license and park fishing rules. Verify current WGFD and NPS rules.
