Little Cottonwood Creek lies inside Salt Lake City's protected drinking watershed. Swimming and bare-leg wading are banned canyon-wide; anglers must wear fishing waders whenever they are in the water (Salt Lake City Public Utilities watershed rules). Dogs are not permitted in the canyon. A Utah fishing license is required — check Utah DWR for current statewide limits and season dates.
