About G. Loomis

G. Loomis was founded by Gary Loomis in 1982 in Woodland, Washington, where all G. Loomis rods are still designed and built today. The company originally rose to prominence for its steelhead and Pacific Northwest rods and has since expanded to cover the full range of fly, bass, and saltwater rod applications.

G. Loomis is a subsidiary of Shimano. The fly rod lineup covers freshwater trout, saltwater, and two-hand Spey rods, built alongside the broader Loomis conventional and spinning rod families in the Woodland facility.
