Ham's Fork is a small tributary of the Green River in southwestern Wyoming, flowing through sagebrush and high desert terrain before joining the main stem near Kemmerer. It's a local sleeper — rarely crowded, holding a solid population of wild brown trout in the 10-to-16-inch range in water that receives a fraction of the pressure of more famous Wyoming rivers. The river is primarily a wade fishery, with meandering meadow runs and deeper pools carved beneath undercut banks. Access is straightforward from state highways, and the lack of crowds makes it an attractive option for anglers visiting the Flaming Gorge / Green River corridor who want a change of pace. Best fished in early summer before water temperatures peak and again in fall when trout feed aggressively ahead of winter.
