Cherry Creek runs south from the Young area to the Salt River above Roosevelt Lake. Do not confuse it with the Cherry Creek in Yavapai County. Check land ownership before you fish, and stay on public land.
This is a native-fish creek, not a trout stream. Arizona Game and Fish manages Cherry Creek mainly for its self-sustaining roundtail chub. Desert sucker, Sonora sucker, longfin dace, and speckled dace live alongside them. Roundtail chub are catch and release only statewide.
A USGS station near Globe reports flows on the lower creek.
