Confirm the 2026 Michigan Fishing Regulations and the Inland Trout and Salmon map for Baldwin River / Baldwin Creek in Lake County. Michigan fishing license required. The PM flies-only overlay applies on the Pere Marquette, not automatically on the Baldwin.
The Baldwin River, also mapped as Baldwin Creek, held a 12-mile historic Blue Ribbon trout reach in Lake County from 24th Street to the Pere Marquette. Michigan DNR no longer keeps an active Blue Ribbon list. Inland trout water is typed 1 through 4 now.
This is the Pere Marquette tributary that enters the flies-only water near Baldwin. Brook trout hold the upper water above 24th Street. Brown trout use the lower river into town.
Named public crossings include Forman Road near Idlewild, 8th Street in Baldwin, and the Michigan DEQ public-access trail west of M-37. No live USGS discharge gauge sits on this river. Confirm the 2026 Michigan Fishing Regulations and the Inland Trout and Salmon map. The Pere Marquette Gear Restricted overlay starts at the confluence, not on the Baldwin itself.
