Wet Beaver Creek is a clear, cool stream in a deep red rock canyon cut into the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau, a few miles east of Interstate 17 near Rimrock. Much of it lies inside the Wet Beaver Wilderness, at about 3,800 feet.
The Forest Service notes the creek is stocked with trout. Arizona Game and Fish applies statewide trout limits here, with unlimited bass and catfish. Native suckers and roundtail chub also live here and should be released unharmed. Flows run low in summer. AZGFD measured about 7 to 8 cfs in mid-July 2026, so the trout fishing is best in spring and fall.
Bell Trail No. 13 is the main way into the canyon. It reaches the wilderness 2.7 miles from the trailhead, and parking requires a Red Rock Pass or America the Beautiful Pass. The Beaver Creek Day Use site on Forest Road 618 is a concessionaire fee area. Camping and campfires are not allowed along the Bell Trail and in the wilderness. Monsoon storms can flash flood the creek from July through September.
