Currant Creek flows out of the Uinta Mountains into Currant Creek Reservoir before continuing down toward the Duchesne River near Fruitland. The stream above and below the reservoir holds brown and rainbow trout in cold, spring-fed water typical of the south Uinta drainages.
Forest roads off Highway 35 give access to the upper creek within Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Below the reservoir, the creek runs smaller and more intimate through open sagebrush country toward its confluence with the Duchesne.
