Verify current Utah Division of Wildlife Resources regulations for the East Fork Sevier River, since rules can differ between the Black Canyon and Kingston Canyon reaches. Much of the drainage borders Dixie National Forest and private ranch land; respect posted property.
The East Fork Sevier River runs north out of the high plateau country near Bryce Canyon National Park, through Black Canyon and down into Kingston Canyon before reaching Piute Reservoir. Utah Division of Wildlife Resources manages long stretches of this drainage for brown and rainbow trout.
Black Canyon holds tighter, rockier water at higher elevation near the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Kingston Canyon downstream is wider valley water with more open banks and easier wading, running through a scenic red-rock corridor along Highway 62.
