The North Fork of the White River is one of Missouri's largest and most productive trout streams, fed by Rainbow Spring and several other large Ozark springs near Dora in Ozark County. Missouri Department of Conservation manages a long reach as a Blue Ribbon Trout Area, holding both wild and stocked rainbow trout along with brown trout.
The river below Rainbow Spring runs cold and clear year-round, wide enough in places for both wading and light floating. Patrick Bridge is a well-known downstream access and float takeout on this reach. This is bigger water than most Ozark trout creeks, with room for longer casts and streamer fishing for brown trout.
