The Eleven Point is a federally designated National Scenic River in the Ozarks, fed heavily by Greer Spring, one of the largest springs in Missouri. The reach from the Greer Spring Branch confluence down to Turner Mill Access is prized cold, clear float and wade water managed for trout by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Greer Spring alone can more than double the river's flow where it enters, dropping water temperatures and creating consistent trout habitat below the confluence. Rainbow and brown trout hold in this stretch, with smallmouth bass also present as the water warms downstream.
USGS gauges near Thomasville and Bardley bracket the managed trout water. Mark Twain National Forest borders much of this reach; check current USFS and MDC access points before floating or wading in.
